On September 5 the captain of the Georgian national team and president of the “Kala Foundation” Kakha Kaladze together with the head coach of the national team Temur Ketsbaia visited 20 under age patients of A. Gvamichava National Center of Oncology. Kakha Kaladze on behalf of the “Kala Foundation” gave presents and rendered financial assistance to each patient in the amount of 500 laries.

The little patients enjoyed the visit of the footballers very much, they took memory photos, autographs and little grateful patients also gave Kakha the icon of Mother Mary as a memory present. The captain of the national team stated: “I would like to thank you for such a precious present, I will put the icon in such a place where I will always see it, remember minutes spent here with you and your problems”.

The head of the Children’s division of A. Gvamichava National Center of Oncology Ramaz Kalmakhelidze thanked the “Kala Foundation”, personally Kakha Kaladze and mentioned that “the contact with such famous people makes children very happy and that influences very positively state of health of the patients”.

Kaladze himself stated during the conversation with the journalists that this will not be single action. He also said that - “Kala Foundation” since its establishment has held numerous charity actions of such kind, we are going to support social programs in the future too. Today I am remarkably happy and believe that these little patients will defeat the illness by all means. Together we are a big power and lets stand next to the future generation because healthy generation is the future of the nation” - the above action was also important in a sense that this was the first case when a famous person renders assistance to the patients of the Oncological Center. As the General Director of the Oncological Center Professor Revaz Gagua stated, “this is the first action of this kind, when a businessman gave assistance to the patients of our Center. The children’s oncology with full financing is considered a priority direction by the state (diagnosis and treatment) but such a step taken by a famous person should be appreciated”.

“Kala Foundation” carries out its activities since 2008. Its major directions are development of sports, assistance to education, social programs. During this period “Kala Foundation” carried out many interesting projects among which are projects in the field of medicine.

Charity “Kala Foundation” of Kakha Kaladze strongly cooperates with both foreign nongovernmental and Georgian charity foundations, namely, with the charity foundation of Paata Burchuladze “Iavnana”.
